Gg’s Eyewear & Designz was established in 2015 by Gabrielle Harvey at the age of seven years old. After seeing many of her family members excel as entrepreneurs, she wanted to do the same. When she told her mother she wanted to have her own business, her mother encouraged her to speak to her god-mother, the entrepreneur guru, Dr. Alicia Ritchey, IndigoLife Magazine, Publisher. Affectionately known as “Golly”, because Gabrielle could not pronounce Goddy. (A.K.A. god mother), she asked for not only council, but for her to partner with her in this business venture. Gg’s Eyewear &Designz was created! The capital “G” representing the mentorship of her Golly Golly and the mentee nature of Gabrielle representing the lower case “g.”
The idea of Gabrielle, (Gabby) was to customize & design fashionable products for children. Whether it’s blinging out a pair of signature Gg’s eyewear, making slime, key chains, pillows, custom fidget spinners, T-Shirts or customizing school supplies, she strives to make sure the designs are fun, youthful, and affordable for children who she encourages to save up their allowance, so they can make their own purchases.
She aspires to hire a few young entrepreneurs (Friends of Gg’s) to assist her in customizing products in the near future. She sees this as a start to growing the business and supplying jobs, an excellent character trait instilled by a model businessman and her loving grandfather, Dr. Deryl G. Hunt. He was the visionary behind the Kidz4Kidz program, of which Gabrielle is apart, geared toward teaching and encouraging youth about true character and economic development.
Gg’s Eyewear & Accessories products have been sold nationally, from South Florida/ Georgia over to the west coast, California and even internationally in Freeport Bahamas.
In addition to local and online sales, she is in the planning phase of her products entering the retail market by Spring 2020 in a Boutique in Southwest GA and has recently opened a shop on Etsy.
